Christian Hackenberg’s touchdown celebration after scoring a rushing touchdown on Saturday night in the AAF was short lived.
Saturday night, the Memphis Express took on the Arizona Hotshots in Week 2 of the AAF season. In the fourth quarter, leading 12-6, Hackenberg escaped pressure and scored on a four-yard touchdown run. As he crossed the goal line, he was getting ready to throw his hands in the air to celebrate the two-touchdown advantage.
That’s when the former Penn State QB suffered a nasty late-hit by a Hotshots defender. Hackenberg was understandably upset:

Keep sleeping on Hackenberg. Every time the haters knock him down he gets back up. https://t.co/gQ2xjL5aGd

That looked pretty painful, but Hackenberg got up pretty quickly, which is always a good sign.
Despite the two-touchdown advantage in the fourth quarter, the Express fell 20-18 to the Hotshots. Hackenberg finished the day completing 14 passes for 102 yards. He also had 39 yards on seven rushes, including the four-yard touchdown run.
