WATCH: Clayton Thorson slings first NFL TD on fourth down play

Clayton Thorson is all of a sudden set up to see a lot of playing time this preseason.
Thorson is with the Philadelphia Eagles after finishing up his career at Northwestern. He entered training camp as the fourth-string quarterback, but injuries have set him up to see some steady playing time in the preseason.
Carson Wentz remains the starter for Philadelphia but has not played yet in the preseason. His backup, Nate Sudfeld, was injured in the preseason opener, and Cody Kessler was injured early in Thursday’s game. That leaves the Eagles with Thorson as the lone healthy quarterback for the rest of the game.
After losing QB Nate Sudfeld to a broken bone above his left wrist, Eagles lost his his backup Cody Kessler to a potential concussion. Now left with Clayton Thorson playing QB vs Jaguars, with backup QB questions for this summer.

Thorson is already making the most of his chance. He dropped back on this play and got rid of the ball seconds ahead of a blitz. His throw found Greg Ward Jr., and Ward took it the distance for six points.
It was Thorson’s first score in the NFL:
