Texas was ready to kick off its first time hosting College GameDay in nearly a decade in style.
During the first TV shot from Austin, TX on Saturday morning, the Longhorns faithful fired a cannon shot through an LSU jersey. The crowd roared, as it seemed like College GameDay host Rece Davis had to shout in order to be heard through the television.

Why’d they have to do the LSU jersey like that? 💥

No. 9 Texas will host No. 6 LSU in the game of the weekend. This contest will not only have College Football Playoff implications, the SEC would like to bounce back from a difficult first Saturday. But for Texas, the Longhorns would like to prove their program is truly back on the national stage.
Before Saturday, College GameDay hadn’t been to Austin since Sept. 19, 2009. It was a long overdue visit, and let’s hope the game Saturday night lives up to the hype.
