WATCH: DL coach Larry Johnson brings unique perspective to OSU-PSU rivalry

Ohio State DL coach Larry Johnson has had quite a run coaching in college football.
Though he now coaches for the Buckeyes, Johnson previously coached for Penn State and was a member of Joe Paterno’s staff. When reflecting on his coaching journey during a recent BTN segment, Johnson took time to recognize those who helped him along the way.
“I’ve had some great mentors on the way,” said Johnson. “I didn’t just get this by myself.”
Johnson went on to recall some of the memorable pass rushers he has coached over the years. In particular, he remembered nearly similar plays from Tamba Hali and Joey Bosa, albeit from different sides of the Ohio State-Penn State rivalry.
In the end, Johnson said he doesn’t know how long he will coach. However, he currently has the health, desire, and willingness to keep coaching for a long time.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Johnson explained. “I’m in great health, I absolutely enjoy what I do, I have a great passion for the game. Who knows? I don’t know how long I’m gonna do this. But I tell you right now, there’s no stopping in coach Johnson as a coach.”
