Purdue stormed out of the locker rooms and scored less than one minute into the second half in Iowa City.

On the third play of the third quarter, quarterback Elijah Sindelar fired a deep ball to receiver Anthony Mahoungou along the sideline, trying to stretch the stingy Iowa defense. It worked to perfection as the pass hit Mahoungou in stride and the Boilermakers scored on the play.

It gave Purdue an early 14-9 in the second half.

On the following possession, Sindelar hit Mahoungou in the end zone again, giving the Boilermakers a 21-9 advantage over the Hawkeyes.

Mahoungou is Purdue’s second-leading receiver, hauling in 25 catches for 347 yards coming into the game. He now has five touchdown receptions on the season.

Sindelar now has 11 touchdown passes on the season.
