It’s been 35 years since Michigan’s baseball team last played in the College World Series. So, in Ann Arbor, it’s a big deal that the Wolverines defeated top-ranked UCLA last weekend and are headed to Omaha.

On Wednesday, fans gathered on Michigan’s campus to give the baseball team a proper sendoff as it heads to Omaha this week. The Wolverines open the College World Series on Saturday, facing off against Texas Tech.

Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News captured videos of fans flocking to Ann Arbor to show their support for the team:

Michigan’s game against Texas Tech to open the College World Series on Saturday will start at 2 p.m. ET. The Wolverines will then play again on Monday, June 17. Depending on the outcome, they will either play the winner or loser of Arkansas-Florida State.

The Wolverines defeated UCLA in the Super Regional 2-1 in a best-of-three series. Here’s a full look at the College World Series schedule.

Michigan’s game will be aired on ESPN.
