Talk about a cool moment.

Recently, the Beathard family was presented with some pretty awesome news. Bobby Beathard, the grandfather of former Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard, was nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for serving 38 years in the NFL as a general manager.

To discuss the honor and the special recognition, NFL Network spoke with Bobby about his nomination. Midway through the segment, though, the network had a really special surprise for the Hall of Famer.

His grandson was also on the line to congratulate him. And they had a pretty terrific conversation, too:

That had to be a really special moment for Bobby and C.J.

C.J. Beathard is currently with the San Francisco 49ers and put up some impressive numbers during the NFL preseason.

Who knows, maybe in a few years, C.J. will be able to join his grandfather in the Hall of Fame.
