In addition to an opportunity to move to 3-0 on the season, Saturday’s home game vs. Arizona State represents a chance at school history for Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio.

In his 13th season at the helm of the Spartans, Dantonio is tied atop Michigan State’s all-time wins list with the late Duffy Daugherty at 109.

Winning a shade over 68% of his games at Michigan State, Dantonio has won three Big Ten Championships (2010, ’13, ’15) and two Big Ten Coach of the Year Awards (2010, ’13).

Some of Dantonio’s best players offered some sentiments ahead of Saturday’s action:

Ranked No. 18, the 2-0 Spartans are roughly two touchdown favorites over the Sun Devils (2-0). After struggling mightily in 2018, Michigan State’s offense has come to life in 2019. Led by redshirt senior quarterback Brian Lewerke and redshirt freshman running back Elijah Collins, the Spartans are averaging 39.5 points and 442.5 yards per game.

Saturday’s action from Spartan Stadium kicks at 4:00PM ET and will be televised on FOX.
