We’re dwindling down to the final few weeks of the college football season. And though we’ve still got a few weeks until the College Football Playoff rankings truly matter, the implications of the latest poll are being evaluated by everyone associated with the sport.

Recently, FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt talked with Big Ten Network about the B1G’s status in the latest rankings. He outlined how the conference can punch its ticket to a semifinal game — yes, he believes multiple teams still have a shot — and the overall perception of the league heading into the final two Saturdays.

“Before (these rankings), I actually thought the (committee) was devaluing the B1G,” Klatt said during an interview with BTN. “Outside of Michigan, which they’ve devalued extensively even though Michigan in 8-2, I thought the B1G got the benefit of the doubt.”

“Wisconsin got a huge bump, a nice bump up there to No. 5. That tells me they control their own destiny, so that’s a positive right there. Ohio State got into a position where, if they were to win out, they would be in a clear argument with the ACC loser of their conference championship game for a fourth spot of inclusion in the Playoff.”

Klatt also went on to give a brief breakdown of Saturday’s game between No. 24 Michigan and No. 5 Wisconsin in Madison.

Here’s the full video of Klatt’s interview with BTN:
