Week 8 of the college football season is around the corner and one of the marquee games not only in the Big Ten, but the entire country, is No. 24 Michigan State hosting No. 6 Michigan.
The Spartans have had an up-and-down season to this point, while the Wolverines just keep getting better. The game itself is of course a rivalry. You want to be the best team in the state of Michigan.
Ahead of the B1G showdown, which starts at noon and will be televised on FOX, FOX Sports broadcaster John Smoltz talked about what’s to come. Smoltz is from Waverly High School in Lansing, Mich., where he played both baseball and football.
Whether you bleed GREEN (like @MLBONFOX broadcaster John Smoltz) or MAIZE and BLUE, this weekend’s @CFBONFOX rivalry showdown between @MSU_Football and @UMichFootball means EVERYTHING.#EveryGameIsEverything #HouseDivided pic.twitter.com/IW2jcZe3Y7

As Smoltz said, he bleeds green. He loves his Spartans. His family on the other hand, bleeds maize and blue. Saturday’s going to be a fun one.
And this rivalry means everything.
