Technically, Ryan Day is 4-0 as the head coach at Ohio State. Serving as the interim leader last season during Urban Meyer’s suspension allowed him to tally up a 3-0 mark heading into his first full season in the position.

But Day registered his first career win as the permanent head coach of the Buckeyes. And after the 45-21 victory over FAU, Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith presented the new head coach with the game ball.

Eleven Warriors shared footage of the final handoff of the day from Columbus.

Ohio State starts the season 1-0 and will host rival Cincinnati next Saturday in Columbus. The Bearcats are also 1-0 after defeating UCLA on Thursday.

Day will be pitted against longtime Ohio State assistant Luke Fickell when Cincinnati comes to town.
