Ohio State basketball coach Chris Holtmann isn’t happy with the College Football Playoff selection committee.

Sunday night, the Buckeyes posted their first B1G win of the season with a 79-59 thumping of Minnesota. Starting conference play with a 1-0 record and improving to 7-1 on the year should’ve been enough to make Holtmann one of the happiest guys in Columbus.

But the Ohio State hoops coach was still bothered by something that happened earlier in the day. When the final College Football Playoff rankings came out, the Buckeyes were slotted in the No. 6 spot and were omitted from the four-team field for a second straight season.

It was one of the three great mysteries Holtmann can’t figure out.

Following Ohio State’s win on the hardwood, Holtmann griped about the selection committee, and in epic fashion.

“There’s a few things I don’t understand in life,” Holtmann started. “I don’t understand why airlines overbook their flights when they know how many seats they have. I don’t understand how Rocky II never got an Academy Award. I can’t for the life of me understand how we are No. 6 in the final college football playoff ranking. I don’t get it. I’m out.”

He ended the press conference by slamming his hands on the table.

Yeah, if Buckeye fans didn’t love Holtmann already, they certainly will after those comments.
