Watch: Illini WR tiptoes sideline for a first down catch

Illinois wasn’t able to get much in terms of offense in the first half. At least until the final possession.

On the last drive of the first half, the Illini put together an 11-play, 73-yard touchdown drive to take a 7-6 lead into the break over Michigan State. One of the big reasons why Illinois was able to capitalize was thanks to an impressive catch by Sam Mays.

Mays was able to snag the pass while falling out of bounds, making the most impressive play of the first half.

Illinois only had 26 yards and didn’t convert a first down in its first five possessions.
