O.J. Simpson was on Twitter for less than a few hours before his judgment was brought into question.
Saturday afternoon, Simpson created a Twitter account a year after being released from prison following a nine-year sentence for armed robbery and kidnapping. In his first post, he made a short video, saying he’s “got a little getting even to do.”
“Hey Twitter world, this is yours truly. Coming soon to Twitter, you’ll get to read all my thoughts and opinions on just about everything,” Simpson says in the video. “It should be a lot of fun. I’ve got a little getting even to do.”
The Twitter post from Simpson comes nearly 25 years to the day after the double murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Simpson was tried and acquitted for the murders in one of the most high-profile cases in American history.
Simpson, now 71, is a former college and professional football superstar. He played at USC and won the Heisman Trophy in 1968. He was the first overall draft pick in the 1969 NFL Draft and went on to have an 11-year NFL career with the Buffalo Bills (1969-77) and San Francisco 49ers (1978-79).
