This is exactly the kind of start Purdue was hoping to have against Indiana.
Early in the first quarter, Boilermakers defender Garrett Hudson intercepted a pass from Indiana quarterback Richard Lagow and returned it inside the Hoosiers’ 10-yard line, putting Purdue in scoring position early. Then, a sweep play to Jackson Anthrop resulted in a touchdown.
It gave the Boilers an early 7-0 lead.

Purdue hasn’t beaten Indiana since 2012, losing the last four meetings. The winner between the Hoosiers and Boilermakers will improve to 6-6 and earn a bowl bid. The loser will come up one victory short.
