Tragedy hit early Sunday morning when former Iowa running back Damon Bullock was struck by a vehicle and killed in a terrible accident. He was just 25.

After learning of the news of the accident, the University of Iowa released a statement, sending its condolences to the family of Bullock.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Damon’s parents, Kimberly and Roscoe, and the entire family,” Kirk Ferentz said in a release. “Damon’s tragic and unexpected death is a shock to all of us within the Iowa football program, as well as his former teammates. Damon was an outstanding young man and we enjoyed him being a part of the Hawkeye football program.”

The school also created a tribute video for Bullock, which was released on Monday afternoon:

Bullock played at Iowa from 2011-14. In four seasons with the Hawkeyes, he rushed for 1,074 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 616 receiving yards in his career in Iowa City.
