Jalen Rose was one of the first voices clammoring for Michigan to name Juwan Howard the next head coach when John Beilein left for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, the former Fab Five member might be the loudest supporter of his former teammate.

On Friday morning, both Rose and Howard joined ESPN’s Get Up! to talk about Howard being named the head coach of the Wolverines. Once host Mike Greenberg introduced the two, Rose couldn’t contain his excitement.

It provided a special moment on television and showed just how strong the bond among the Fab Five has been in the past. Here’s the exchange between Rose and Howard:

Rose has been a huge supporter of Michigan’s decision to bring Howard back to the sideline. He’s even said that the move will resolve the issues among the Fab Five — primarily between Rose and Chris Webber.

It’s only been a week, but Howard’s hiring has already provided some special moments.

On Thursday, during his introductory press conference, Howard broke down in tears before making a comment at Crisler Center. It showed just how important it was for him to return to Ann Arbor and coach a program that has meant so much to him.
