Penn State was able to send its seniors out in proper fashion on Saturday evening, posting a convincing 56-44 win over Nebraska in the Beaver Stadium finale for 2017. The victory was the ninth of the year for the Nittany Lions and secured back-to-back undefeated seasons in Happy Valley.

From that perspective, head coach James Franklin was really pleased. But he wasn’t entirely satisfied with his team’s performance against the Huskers, especially in the second half.

The head coach met with the media following the win and addressed a variety of topics. He talked about the impact this group of seniors had on the program; how Penn State was able to jump out to a big lead early in the game; and how he felt his team fell a little short in the second half.

“I thought we came out and played well early on,” Franklin said. “But I don’t think we played up to our standard in the second half.”

With the win, Penn State improved to 9-2 on the year and 6-2 in the B1G. The Nittany Lions will close out the season next weekend against Maryland in College Park.
