The colossal matchup between No. 2 Penn State and No. 6 Ohio State was as good as advertised on Saturday afternoon. When the year comes to a close, it’ll easily be remembered as one of the top games of the 2017 season.
Unfortunately for the Nittany Lions, they fell just short of notching a marquee win, losing to Ohio State 39-38. It was even more disappointing considering they held a 21-3 lead in the first half and a 35-20 lead in the fourth quarter.
After the game, head coach James Franklin met with the media to talk about the game, its key plays, and how Penn State moves forward after the loss.
“I thought we played good,” Franklin said after the game. “But obviously not good enough.”
He also gave plenty of credit to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes for making adjustments in the second half and gave kudos to the fans for creating a hostile environment on Saturday afternoon.
Here’s the rest of what Franklin had to say after the game, as Penn State is now 7-1 on the year and 4-1 in the B1G.
