Many players, coaches and college football personalities have spoken at length about the impact Joe Tiller had on Purdue, the Big Ten and college football this past weekend, after the coaching legend passed away on Saturday.

On Monday, Purdue current head coach Jeff Brohm was asked for his thoughts on Tiller and the type of impact he made in West Lafayette and in the conference.

Here’s what Brohm had to say:

Brohm has been compared to Tiller in countless ways since arriving at Purdue. Most believe his wide-open offensive mindset draws similarities to Tiller’s offenses and that the Boilermakers could restore some of that “basketball on grass” mentality that was so successful in the late ’90s and early 2000s.

Tiller coached at Purdue from 1997-2008, winning 87 games and reaching 10 bowl games in 12 seasons. He’s currently the program’s all-time winningest coach.

Tiller died on Saturday at the age of 74.
