WATCH: Jerry Jones fires playful ‘Zeke who’ jab following impressive outing by rookie Tony Pollard

Jerry Jones is never at a loss for words.

The owner of the Dallas Cowboys has to be a little worried about the continued absence of star running back Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott continues to hold out for an updated contract from the Cowboys and reports have indicated he is willing to miss all of 2019.

Well, as his holdout continues, running back Tony Pollard impressed during preseason action Saturday. Pollard, a rookie out of Memphis, rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown and added a catch to his total.

After the game, Jones was asked if Pollard’s performance would prove to be his best negotiator. Jones’ response?

“Zeke who?”

To his credit, Jones laughed it off and made it very clear it was a joke and not to be taken seriously. He looked directly into the camera and let Elliott know it was just for fun. In fact, Jones went on to explain how Pollard is a great complimentary piece to go along with Elliott:

“That will really complement what we’re doing with Zeke,” explained Jones, “Not replace that.”
