There’s absolutely no doubt that Michigan owns one of the best defenses in college football, if not the best. And Jim Harbaugh knows just how fortunate he is to have Don Brown on his staff.
Following Michigan’s annihilation of Penn State on Saturday, Harbaugh spoke with the media to talk about the numerous things the Wolverines did well. Most notably was how effective the defense was against the Nittany Lions’ offense, one of the best in the B1G entering the game.
Harbaugh couldn’t help but shower his defensive coordinator with praise. He even had a jingle for Brown. In the video below, you can hear Harbaugh reference the jingle.

“He’s the king, he’s the king of defensive coordinators,” Harbaugh said.
Michigan’s defense held Penn State to just one late touchdown in a 42-7 victory. Entering the game, the Nittany Lions had one of the highest-scoring offenses in the B1G.
Penn State totaled just 186 yards and had three turnovers in the loss. It was one of the worst performances for the Nittany Lions in the last three years.
Michigan improved to 8-1 with the win and is still 6-0 in B1G play. The Wolverines are the only team in the conference without a blemish in league play.
