Forget Northwestern, Ohio State and the B1G Championship Game, the most important title in Indianapolis has already been awarded.

Prior to Saturday’s B1G title game between the Buckeyes and Wildcats, there was a Shrimp Cocktail Eating Contest, sponsored by St. Elmo’s Steakhouse in Indianapolis. And there was a legendary competitive eater on hand, as Joey Chestnut was one of the contestants.

Chestnut appeared to dominate the rest of the field.

The legendary competitive eater, who had become world famous for his dominance in the Hot Dog Eating Contest, downed 18 pounds, 9.6 ounces of shrimp. And Chestnut finished it off in eight minutes.

Talk about impressing the selection committee.

St. Elmo is famous for its shrimp cocktail, which has a nice “slap you in your face” kick to it.

Regardless of what happens on the field between Ohio State and Northwestern at Lucas Oil Stadium, it won’t be nearly as impressive as what Chestnut did a few hours before kickoff.
