Want to get Kirk Ferentz going?

Sure, a football game involving the Iowa Hawkeyes will catch his attention. But, what are his thoughts about certain rules in particular? Week 1 gave Ferentz a look at his team against Northern Illinois.

He was intrigued by that.

But again, what really gets Ferentz’s attention? Apparently it’s about rules involving cut blocks.

We haven’t seen Ferentz this amped up in quite some time. It’s as though he was a double-digit favorite at home to a Group of 5 school and the Hawkeyes got whooped.

That certainly wasn’t the case here. Ferentz coached offensive line play at Iowa in the 1980s and then some more in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens in the 1990s. Then, he took over as the head man at Iowa.

Point is, he cares about offensive line play and rules involving the big uglies up front.

He cares a lot.
