WATCH: Maryland’s Bruno Fernando destroys the rim with one-handed slam

Bruno Fernando has no remorse for basketball rims.
During Maryland’s first-round matchup against Belmont in the NCAA Tournament, Fernando destroyed the rim on a one-handed slam in the second half. In the old days, it would’ve probably shattered the backboard.
There’s really no good way to defend this. Just get out of the way and hope you don’t get hurt.

Fernando was a double-double machine for the Terrapins throughout the season and was an All-B1G selection. He had already recorded a double-double by the early second half with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite a big effort from Fernando, Maryland still finds itself in a fight with Belmont.
