There hasn’t been much to celebrate in the Outback Bowl. At the end of the first half, the score was 9-3, with neither Michigan nor South Carolina reaching the end zone.

So yeah, it’s not been the most entertaining game to watch on New Year’s Day.

But Michigan kicker Quinn Nordin added a little flavor to the game at the end of the first half, and not just because he nailed a 45-yard field goal attempt before halftime. After the Nordin converted on the long attempt he made a Baker Mayfield-like gesture towards the South Carolina sideline.

Here’s the video:

Usually, watching a kicker make that kind of gesture seems really uncalled for. But in this game, when Nordin was 3-for-3 in the first half and was the only Wolverine to score points, it almost seems appropriate.

Maybe you think it’s funny, or maybe you’re shaking your head in disappointment. Either way, at least he gave us something to talk about.
