Michigan didn’t take long to get on the board in Omaha.

The Wolverines scored the first run of the College World Series on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning. The early run gave Michigan an early 1-0 lead over Texas Tech in the CWS opener.

Jordan Nwogu opened the game off with a lead-off single and was able to advance to third base thanks to a passed ball and a grounder. He scored on a sacrifice fly from Jordan Brewer, who popped up on a 1-1 pitch:

The run was the first of the College World Series.

Michigan is participating in the College World Series for the first time since 1984. It’s off to a good start in Omaha.
