Michigan scored in the first inning in each of its first four games of the College World Series, and eventually went on to win all four. If that’s any indication of what could happen tonight, the Wolverines are in excellent shape.
After a rough night at the plate on Tuesday, Michigan had the bats working early in Game 3 against Vanderbilt. The first three batters of the game — Ako Thomas, Jesse Franklin and Jordan Brewer — all picked up hits for the Wolverines.
Brewer’s knock on an 0-2 pitch drove Thomas across the plate, giving the Wolverines an early 1-0 advantage.

Michigan scored in the 1st inning and the first run of each of its first four games, helping the Wolverines get to the 4-0 start. On Tuesday, Vanderbilt struck first with the first run coming in the fifth inning.
We’ll see if this is a sign of good things to come for Michigan.
The winner of tonight’s battle will take the best-of-three series 2-1 and will claim the NCAA baseball national title.
