WATCH: Notre Dame QB Ian Book nailed Louisville cheerleader in the face with incompletion out of bounds

Published:
Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book took “throwing the ball away” to another level on one of his attempts against Louisville in the season opener on Labor Day, and one Cardinals cheerleader probably wishes he hadn’t.
On one pass attempt during the fourth quarter Monday night, Book tossed the ball more than 20 yards down the field and several yards left of the out of bounds line. Apparently unaware of the ball’s trajectory, one Louisville cheerleader saw the pass nail her right in the face.
Here’s the best video of the incident:

Apparently the Louisville cheerleader has seen the replay of the incident on Twitter as well and has shared that the pass broke her nose. Fortunately, she also seemed to be joking about it with fans on social media.
Well my nose is crooked but I'll always have a good story to tell

Glad she appears in high spirits and can joke about it. Let’s hope “Liz” has a speedy recovery and is back on the sidelines soon.
Book finished 14-for-23 with 193 passing yards and a touchdown. Notre Dame defeated Louisville, 35-17.
