WATCH: Ohio State brings back ‘Legend Challenge’ involving DE Chase Young
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Last year, Ohio State coaches trolled QB Tate Martell with what they called the “Legend Challenge,” where they called a barbershop in his home city of Las Vegas to see if they knew who Martell was.
The prank was orchestrated by WR coach Ryan Smith, and on Monday, he was at it again. This time, the target was former 5-star DE Chase Young.
Young is a native of the Washington D.C.-area, but as you can see in the video below, shared by @OhioStateFB on Twitter, Smith finds that no one at the DMV-area barbershop can remember Young:
Oh yes. The #LegendChallenge is back. Is @youngchase907 a true legend in the DMV? 🧐 pic.twitter.com/yUKVHpf6It

Young seems to handle it pretty well, but it’s an important lesson Smith is teaching the players. Unless you have continuous success, no one is going to remember who you are.
We can’t wait to see who gets the Legend Challenge treatment next year.
