The 2019 Big Ten Media Days are taking place on Thursday and Friday in Chicago and each team is represented by its head coach and three players over the course of the two-day event. The Big Ten Media Days are being televised on BTN.

When it came to Minnesota and coach P.J. Fleck, a number of Gopher-related questions came his way of course. But one topic that in one way or another was brought up to each coach was the transfer portal.

Here’s what Fleck thinks about the topic as a whole, which has players that can enter the portal at any time without even talking to the player’s current school:

Fleck, like many of the coaches, believes in what the portal can do for players and teams. But, he also believes that he doesn’t want a free agent type of system implemented for college football where players can leave schools one year and immediately play at another school — regardless of the circumstances — the very next season.
