It sounds like the Buckeyes already have a bit of a chip on their shoulder heading into the season.

Ohio State will be entering Week 1 without head coach Urban Meyer on the sideline. Meyer was suspended for the first three games of the season following an investigation into what he knew in regards to domestic violence allegations regarding former assistant Zach Smith.

Regardless of Meyer’s suspension, the team must focus on the task at hand, which will be Oregon State in Week 1. For anyone questioning the mentality of the team headed into the season opener, WR Parris Campbell shared a bit of insight.

In a video shared by 11 Warriors writer Derrick Webb, Campbell said the Buckeyes are “very angry” headed into the season opener:

“I think we’re very angry,” said Campbell. “Just with all the adversity we’ve been through, everything that’s happened in the past. Us not having our head coach…I think a lot of variables went into it.”

Campbell did go on to elaborate that the anger also drives a desire to be great and be better than the team was last season. Regardless of how they feel, kickoff is just around the corner.
