Penn State freshman running back Devyn Ford made his college football debut a memorable one. He only received two carries during the first half, but the former 4-star recruit made the most of them.
On the second career of his career, Ford rushed for an 81-yard touchdown. On the play, Ford found a huge hole on the left side and applied a quick stiff arm to the closest defender to him. After that, it was all speed, as Ford outran everyone to the end zone.

Ford’s long touchdown run came with a little under five minutes remaining in the second quarter. It also increased Penn State’s stronghold over Idaho, as it increased the Nittany Lions lead to 34.
Ford finished the first half with 82 rushing yards, which leads the team at halftime, on two carries. Penn State leads Idaho at halftime, 44-0.
247Sports ranked Ford the No. 5 running back in the 2019 recruiting class. With the big lead, he might not see much more work in Week 1, but big things are expected from him during the Big Ten season.
Penn State running backs Journey Brown and Ricky Slede also scored rushing touchdowns in the first half.
