Aaron Wheeler and Eric Hunter Jr. might be freshmen, but they looked like seasoned veterans on the floor early in Purdue’s first round matchup against Old Dominion on Thursday night.
Midway through the first half, the Boilermakers were on a fastbreak, hoping to take advantage of numbers down the floor. That’s when Hunter found Wheeler sprinting to the hoop and lobbed the perfect pass his direction.
Wheeler finished the play, finishing off a textbook alley-oop.

Purdue isn’t always known as a team with a lot of high-flyers and it’s not often on the highlight reel for these type of finishes. But the Boilermakers displayed that they do have that kind of athleticism on the roster.
That play helped Purdue build a 32-19 at halftime.
