Purdue enjoyed an exciting night in West Lafayette.
First, the Boilermakers clobbered No. 2 Ohio State 49-20, knocking off a top five opponent for the first time since 1999. Then, fans stormed the field at R0ss-Ade Stadium to celebrate.
And if that wasn’t enough, Purdue Pete got to join in on some of the fun, too. Because after the game, the Boilers’ mascot had his opportunity to troll the Buckeyes.
Pete “dotted the I” after the big win.

“Dotting the I,” as you may know, is a longstanding tradition with the Ohio State Marching Band. At each home game, one individual is elected to “dot the I” in the band’s “Script Ohio” formation.
Since the Buckeyes weren’t in Columbus and because they didn’t win, Purdue Pete took it upon himself to carry on the tradition. But he decided to dot the I in “Boilermakers” rather than “Ohio.”
Wins are always fun. Upset wins are even better. But pulling off an upset and then trolling the team you just beat? It doesn’t get much better than that.
