Three minutes.

That’s all it took for Purdue to reach the end zone against a stellar Iowa defense on Saturday. Not a bad start for the Boilermakers, who are coming off an awful offensive performance against Michigan State a week ago.

Early in the first quarter, David Blough fired a long pass to the end zone, connecting with receiver Isaac Zico for a 36-yard scoring strike. It was a tremendous start for the Purdue quarterback, who threw three interceptions a week ago.

With that touchdown, Purdue became the first team to score on its opening drive against Iowa’s defense this season. Not bad at all.

The pass was Blough’s 14th touchdown toss of the season. It was the fourth touchdown reception for Zico.
