Anthony Mahoungou is finishing the season strong.

The Purdue receiver had 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns a week ago when the Boilermakers knocked off Iowa, and he’s picking up where he left off. His efforts helped give his team a halftime advantage over Indiana.

Late in the second quarter, quarterback Elijah Sindelar fired a pass down the field to Mahoungou, and the receiver made an incredible play to create some separation, make the catch and jog into the end zone for the touchdown. It was his first score of the contest.

The connection from Sindelar to Mahoungou went 49 yards and gave the Boilermakers a 21-7 advantage.

Heading into the season finale against Indiana, Mahoungou was Purdue’s top receiver, hauling in 32 receptions for 482 yards and five touchdowns. He had two catches for 88 yards in the first half against Indiana.

The touchdown was also Sindelar’s 13th of the season.
