WATCH: Purdue’s version of ‘Philly Special’ works to perfection

Purdue pulled out a bit of trickery in Saturday’s game against Illinois.

By now most fans in the football world are familiar with the play dubbed “Philly Special.” The Philadelphia Eagles used the play that featured a reverse pass thrown to QB Nick Foles for a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

Well, Purdue introduced its version of the play against the Illini, and it worked beautifully. The Boilermakers executed every step of the play and had QB David Blough wide open in the corner of the end zone. The throw by Jared Sparks was accurate and capped the play perfectly.
