On just about any other Saturday, Adrian Martinez’s numbers in Nebraska’s win over Minnesota would’ve been enough to earn him sole possession of the B1G Freshman of the Week honors.
The freshman quarterback just had is incredible performance on the same day as another B1G freshman was captivating an audience, too.
Martinez completed 25-of-29 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 125 yards and a score. That’s a pretty spectacular stat line.
So when Scott Frost learned that Martinez shared the weekly Freshman of the Week honors, he was a bit stunned. Until he learned the other honoree was Purdue receiver Rondale Moore.
Scott Frost was surprised to learn @MartinezTheQB shared Week 8 @B1Gfootball frosh honors.
Then, he was told @Rondale_Moore03 was the other winner.

Moore indeed did deserve to share the honor. The receiver caught 12 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns. He accounted for 252 all-purpose yards against the Buckeyes.
Both Martinez and Moore played critical roles in each team’s win this weekend.
You might be a fan of one particular team, but you can’t deny that both Martinez and Moore were deserving of the honor from the B1G.
