Points were hard to come by in the first quarter of the Peach Bowl, but Michigan was able to find the end zone late in the first quarter.

Following a long pass-and-catch from Shea Patterson to Nico Collins, putting the Wolverines in scoring position, Michigan was able to convert on a nine-yard pass play to get across the goal line. Donovan Peoples-Jones contorted his body to fend off a defender and haul in the throw from Patterson.

It was the first touchdown of the game and gave the Wolverines a 7-3 lead early in the game.

The touchdown pass was the 22nd for Patterson on the season. It was the eighth touchdown reception for Peoples-Jones.

Michigan entered the game at 10-2 and owned a 4-0 record all time against Florida. A win over the Gators in the Peach Bowl would give the Wolverines their first 11-win season since 2011.
