WATCH: Tennessee fans protesting reported hiring of Greg Schiano

People in Knoxville aren’t happy about the report that Tennessee had reached a deal with Greg Schiano about becoming the program’s next head coach.
A report that the two sides were negotiating surfaced on Sunday afternoon but there was no official word on a finalized deal.
Fans wanted their voices heard after the report was released and several gathered on the University of Tennessee campus to protest. Many could even be heard chanting “Fire Currie,” which was in reference to UT athletic director John Currie.
Schiano was the head coach at Rutgers from 2001-2011 and racked up a 68-67 record during that time, including an 11-2 season in 2006. After his time in Piscataway, Schiano was named the head coach of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he served for two seasons.
He’s been at Ohio State as the defensive coordinator each of the last two seasons.
