The Early Signing Period is all about the student-athlete. It’s a day when every player’s hard work, dedication and talent is rewarded by making a commitment to further their academic and athletic careers.
It’s a day all about those accomplishments.
But on Wednesday morning, one recruit decided to include one of his closest friends to share the moment. And it resulted in one of the best commitment announcements you’ll ever see.
Cooper Dawson, a 3-star defensive end out of Charleston, South Carolina, committed to Syracuse on Wednesday morning, signing his National Letter of Intent. But he wasn’t the one who made the announcement. First he told his close friend Kingsley Feinman where he was headed, and Feinman relayed the news to the rest of the audience.
Why did Dawson elect to go this route?
“I brought Kingsley out here because he’s inspired me a lot in the ACL process,” Dawson said. “He taught me the only disability is a bad attitude. If he can come around every day with this big ol’ smile, I can do it just the same.”
This really is the best video you’ll see all day. Syracuse is getting a good one.
