Sometimes, you just have to nail that drummer solo.

When the song “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins comes on the radio, it’s hard not to pretend you’re on stage in front of thousands of people waiting for your epic, four-second solo. Wednesday night at Penn State’s practice, several players took a short break from practice to rock out for a few moments.

Actually, some players were still taking reps, but that didn’t stop them from breaking out their air drumsticks.

Backup quarterback Tommy Stevens was conflicted on whether he should run the offense or hit the drum solo. So, he of course did both.

A few other players who weren’t on the field at the time, were able to be a little more dramatic with their participation.

In sync and everything. That may not have been the first time “In the Air Tonight” has come over the loud speaker at a Penn State practice.

It does kind of make you wonder though, are there other dance moves or solos that the Nittany Lions take part in during practice? Or is Phil Collins’ hit song just one that nobody can pass up?

Either way, it was pretty cool to see a few players enjoying themselves.
