Tyler Johnson’s big year continued in the Quick Lane Bowl.
In the first quarter of Minnesota’s matchup against Georgia Tech at Ford Field, the Gopher receiver made an outstanding touchdown catch, holding off a defender and giving his team an early 10-0 lead.
Johnson’s catch will easily make the highlight reel on Wednesday night.

Johnson’s catch also has some significance, too. With that reception, the Gopher receiver set a new single-season receiving yardage record at Minnesota, breaking the mark set by Ron Johnson.
The catch was also Johnson’s 11th touchdown reception of the year, tying a single-season record set by Ron Johnson and Omar Douglas.
Not a bad way to set a couple school records! Johnson's TD ties him for the #Gophers season TD record. His 11 ties Ron Johnson (2000) and Omar Douglas, (1993).

In 2018, Johnson had 1,112 receiving yards in 12 games. That total ranked second in the B1G.
