Maryland couldn’t have asked for a better start against No. 21 Syracuse.

The Terrapins won the toss and deferred. Following a three-and-out on defense, they quickly drove 67 yards in five plays for the game’s first touchdown.

Quarterback Josh Jackson found Tyler Mabry for a seven-yard touchdown.

Then after a Syracuse interception, Maryland returned to the end zone to take a 14-0 lead. Running back Anthony McFarland Jr. scored the second touchdown on the ground from three yards away.

The Orange responded, though, cutting into the Maryland lead with a touchdown a little more than midway through the first quarter. Maryland has an upset on its mind, but one thing is definitely for sure, there are going to be a lot of points scored at College Park on Saturday.
