Players around the NFL are heading to training camps and getting ready for the 2019 season.
Well, most of them are. Ezekiel Elliott is one player that is not in training camp. He is holding out of Dallas Cowboys camp despite being under contract for the next two years.
Many people have their opinions on players holding out — Elliott included. FOX’s Colin Cowherd has said in the past that if he were in charge of the Cowboys, he would trade Elliott.
Urban Meyer — Elliott’s former college coach at Ohio State — joined Cowherd on his show Friday and talked a bit about the former standout Buckeye RB:
.@ColinCowherd: Would you worry about giving Zeke the world?
@OSUCoachMeyer: We have a saying at Ohio State, your best players have to be your hardest workers… We used to call Zeke the best player in America without the ball. He was the best blocker. I know that’s in him. pic.twitter.com/G65TiUNxHF

Meyer doesn’t seem to have the same though as Cowherd. Trading didn’t enter the discussion.
Meyer had everything that was good in the world to say about Elliott: Hardest worker, best player, etc. If Meyer was in charge of the Cowboys, it doesn’t seem as though this holdout by Elliott would last very long.
