WATCH: Urban Meyer passes whistle to Ryan Day

Urban Meyer coached in his final game on Tuesday night. Fittingly, one of the best head coaches in college football exists after Ohio State posted a 28-23 win over Washington in the Rose Bowl.

One of the most successful chapters in Ohio State’s rich football history has come to an end.

The Buckeyes’ win on New Year’s Day marked the end of an era and the start of a new one. Ryan Day moves from offensive coordinator to head coach, following the in the footsteps of one of the best to ever do it.

Following the Rose Bowl win, Meyer addressed his team in the post-game locker room one final time. Ceremoniously, he passed his coaching whistle off to Day, who begins his new journey immediately.
