WATCH: Washington State punt goes terribly wrong, results in safety

There is no part of football that is easy.

Whether that be a block being made, a tackle, a fair catch or even a snap, nothing is certain to go correctly. Include punting in that category.

On Saturday, Washington State played Wyoming and elected to punt on a 4th-and-6 back in its own territory. Certainly understandable.

What is not understandable is what ensued.

Not only did the snap fly over the punter’s head, but the punter decided to try and pick up the football on his own 2-yard line and try to make a play. That of course didn’t go perfectly.

And then he seemed to want to flip the ball to a teammate. That’s when the play altogether resulted in a safety.

Hey, at least it’s only two points.
