It’s not been 24 hours since LSU quarterback Joe Burrow claimed the 2019 Heisman Trophy, but already some way-too-early odds have been released on the favorites to win college football’s top individual award next season. There are some familiar names on the list.

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields and Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence are among those with the best odds to win the 2020 Heisman Trophy. Somewhat surprisingly, Fields is the only B1G player on the list, according to the way-too-early odds released by SportsLine.

Here is a look at the names who surfaced with the best odds, a year away from when next year’s Heisman will be crowned:

  • Justin Fields, Ohio State, QB — +250
  • Trevor Lawrence, Clemson, QB — +300
  • Mac Jones, Alabama, QB — +700
  • Bo Nix, Auburn, QB — +800
  • Kedon Slovis, USC, QB — +1000
  • Jaylen Waddle, Alabama, WR — +1200
  • Ja’Marr Chase, LSU, WR — +1500
  • Zamir White, Georgia, RB — +2000
  • Spencer Sanders, Oklahoma State, QB — +2500

Fields was the only one on the list he was named one of the four Heisman Trophy finalists in 2019. He finished third in the voting this year, behind Burrow and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts.

This season, Fields threw for 2,953 yards and accounted for 50 total touchdowns with just one interception. He led the Buckeyes to a 13-0 record, a B1G title and a College Football Playoff appearance.
