Week 6 B1G picks against the spread

Let’s hope that the oddsmakers don’t have a clue this week.

If they’re right, we’ll only have one B1G game that’s decided by single digits (via Westgate Superbook). If they’re wrong on at least a few games, we’ll have a much more entertaining Saturday.

One of those double-digit spreads is for Wisconsin-Nebraska, which is all sorts of intriguing from a gambling perspective. There’s the fact that Nebraska hasn’t lost a home night game since 2008, and there’s also the fact that Wisconsin has one of the top defenses in the country and Tanner Lee has been awfully generous to defenses.

Also interesting is Michigan State against Michigan in the Big House. Take away recent history with the rivalry and it might look strange that the No. 7 team is only a 10.5-point home favorite to beat a team that’s 6-10 dating back to the start of last year.

Perhaps that’s why we weren’t universal on either of those games. In fact, the only thing we unanimously agreed on this week was that Illinois won’t cover an 18.5-point spread.

So yeah, we’re dropping some serious knowledge bombs.

Last week:

  • Dustin Schutte: 3-3
  • Connor O’Gara: 3-3
  • Garrett Kroeger: 2-4

Season:

  • Schutte: 28-21
  • O’Gara: 28-21
  • Kroeger: 24-25
